Newly Launched National Academic Achievement Award Foundation Announces Incentive-Based Scholarship Award Program

In a pro-active effort to stimulate student motivation at the pivotal middle-school years level the newly-launched National Academic Achievement Award Foundation has inaugurated a special new scholarship program. The Program is aimed at Sixth Grade students and designed to carry through with these students each year until high school graduation.

Dubbed the "Triple A Scholarship Program”, the aim is to enlist Students at an early age and through a modest year-to-year honorarium maintain their focus on academic achievement.  Qualifying students would be offered participation in a continuing college investment fund. This fund would increase in value each year provided the student continues to demonstrate a year-to-year sustainability in scholastic accomplishments.

The Program and Foundation are the creation of Paul S. Bailey, electronics executive, and recent candidate for election to the West Milford, NJ School Board. Commenting on the Program, Bailey noted; "As a candidate, it became apparent to me in examining various school programs, that without genuine motivation on the part of the individual student institutionalized programs will inevitably fall short of their goals. Motivation of the individual student is the vital imperative."

"Our National Academic Award Foundation and the Triple A Scholarship are an effort in the major overall task of helping to focus student participation and motivation. The basis of the Triple A Scholarship Program is to attract the student's attention early and motivate that student in a pragmatic and creative manner."

Each school year, starting in the qualifying student's Sixth Grade Year, each student who can raise the combined Reading, Math, and Science Grade Point average two points from the previous year would be granted a cash award deposited in a special Scholarship Investment Account for that student.  A sustainability award would follow for each year that the grade point average is maintained, through high school graduation.

An integral part of the plan is to encourage the participation of parents as more active partners in the process of education by providing them with an additional benchmark of their children’s scholastic progress.

The Triple A Scholarship Program will launch on an initial "test" basis in West Milford Township, NJ. Special efforts are being made to enlist local business, corporate, and of most critical importance, parental support and involvement.
